Figaro Pigaro was my first set I designed for Garry Marshal when I ran the theater attached to his production office in Burbank.  This particular children’s show featured a singing pig and his host of barnyard friends.  Due to the colorful costumes and characters, I chose to depict the unit set with a “Chuck Jones” appeal (drawing from what inspired me as a child watching Warner Bros. cartoons).  The entire set was constructed out of foam-core and suspended with mono filament (saddled to keep from swaying).  I learned a lot about acetones and what they react with when I began experimenting with what media I could use to paint the set.  I finally settled on water based markers and colored pastels for the details and line work.  This set was also favorably reviewed in the L.A. Times.
