Another thing that was missing from the theater at Skyline College was low-level lighting positions which most professional lighting designers will not do without when it comes to dance concerts. I purchased the raw 2″ square tube 1/8″ steel pipe and began cutting and welding. Once completed, I had eight frames that could house three instruments each; the tallest instrument came to approx. head high at 5’4″ (most of our dancers were short). If I built them again, I would probably add a little more height and counter it with a slightly wider base.
