In the Spring of 2013, the dance department at Skyline asked me to purchase a set of Marley rolls to cover the stage. After purchasing the dance floor through Musson Theatrical, I realized that I would need a safe way to both store and travel the dance floor when it was not in use. I purchased enough raw 2″ square tube steel to build a rolling rack that would not only allow the dance floor to be moved all at once, but also protect it and keep it off the ground when in storage (to avoid “flattening” of the rolls). The entire project only took a day, and I had a lot of dance companies ask me if I could build one for them when they watched me roll out our rack before their productions.
